Wedding Photographer in Neuchâtel.
Neuchâtel, with its yellow-stone old town, the Littoral vineyards and a lake that changes its mood faster than the weather. I keep coming back to photograph weddings here, with particular pleasure.
Neuchâtel has the particular charm of lakeside cities — yellow limestone streets, a lake that shifts colour every hour, vineyard shores between Auvernier and Cressier. Weddings here often carry an intimate quality that is less frequent in Geneva or Lausanne: guests know each other, venues are human-scaled, the day breathes. My reportage follows that rhythm — no forced images, no imposed poses, just a presence that quietly disappears into the moment.
The Essential
A wedding isn’t a photo shoot in beautiful settings. It’s your life unfolding, with its strong emotions, moments of joy, sometimes stress, and those instants that appear without warning.
My job is to be in the right place when those instants arrive. The rest of the time, I make myself invisible.
My Approach in Neuchâtel
From Fribourg, Neuchâtel is practically next door. I photograph weddings from the Littoral to the Val-de-Ruz, and I’ve made my habits here.
What I do know how to do, though, is:
— Arriving early to scout the light
— Anticipating the key moments instead of chasing them
— Working without flash almost everywhere
— Delivering images true to what you actually lived
Why This Approach?
In twenty years, it won’t be the posed photos in front of a monument that move you. It will be the ones with a knowing glance, uncontrollable laughter, a discreet tear.
Those moments don’t repeat. My job is to capture them.
Notable wedding venues in Neuchâtel and the canton
The Neuchâtel region — from the Littoral to the Entre-deux-Lacs and the Val-de-Ruz — offers venues that combine history, vineyards and lake views. Here are some notable addresses I photograph or recommend.
Châteaux and estates — Château de Neuchâtel (and the adjacent Collégiale), Château de Boudry, Château de Vaumarcus, Domaine de la Ville in Neuchâtel, or Domaine E. de Montmollin offer historic settings with gardens, vaulted halls and panoramic views of the lake and the Alps on clear days.
Boutique hotels — Hôtel Palafitte in Monruz — unique in Europe with its overwater pavilions — and La Maison du Prussien at Gor du Vauseyon host original receptions between shoreline and forest. Hôtel Beau-Rivage Neuchâtel remains a reliable classic for traditional receptions.
Vineyards and Littoral — The cellars of Auvernier, Hauterive or Cressier, the lakeshore between Saint-Blaise and La Tène, the Laténium archaeology museum pier, and the terraced vineyards above Corcelles-Cormondrèche: all distinctive settings for couple portraits that don’t look like anyone else’s session.
If your wedding takes place in a renovated farmhouse in the Val-de-Ruz, a chapel in the Jura neuchâtelois, or a private property along the Areuse, my work stays the same — quiet, observant, attentive to what makes your day different from every other.
Frequently asked questions — Wedding photographer in Neuchâtel
What are your rates for a wedding in Neuchâtel?
Packages are the same as for Geneva or Vevey: Essential package from CHF 2,500 (5h) to CHF 3,400 (9h), Plus package at CHF 4,200 for 7 hours with two photographers. Every package includes retouching, a private online gallery and high-resolution files. Full details: wedding packages.
Do you photograph weddings on a CGN boat or on Lake Neuchâtel?
Yes. Boat weddings require specific anticipation (stability, changing light, timing with the crew), and I have the experience to deliver sharp and lively images despite the motion. Departures from Auvernier or Neuchâtel harbour, the passage in front of Cressier, or the sunset return offer unique sequences.
Can we plan a couple session in the vineyards above the lake?
Absolutely. The vineyard terraces of the Neuchâtel Littoral (Colombier, Auvernier, Cortaillod, Boudry) are among my favourites for an end-of-day couple session — especially in September and October when the vines turn copper. I scout the exact spot in advance to maximise the light.
Do you cover ceremonies at the Collégiale de Neuchâtel?
Yes. The Collégiale, the Basilique Notre-Dame de l’Assomption, and the Protestant temples of the canton are places I know well. The rules vary per parish (position, flash, movement) — I clarify them with you and the officiant during the pre-wedding briefing.
How far in advance should we book for a Neuchâtel wedding?
For peak season weddings (June to mid-September), I recommend booking 10 to 14 months ahead. For off-season weddings (April–May or October–early November), 6 to 8 months is usually enough. A booking is confirmed after contract signature and a 30% deposit.
