The Vaud Riviera: Vevey, Montreux, Lavaux. Beautiful landscapes, yes. But what makes your wedding unique isn’t the scenery. It’s your emotions.
The Vaud Riviera — Vevey, Montreux, Territet, Villeneuve, Lavaux — concentrates along twenty kilometres of shoreline some of the most iconic wedding settings in Switzerland. Château de Chillon, UNESCO-listed vineyards, Belle Époque hotels, bridges and promenades that have been photographed for over a century. My approach stays simple: photograph what is real, even against a spectacular backdrop, avoiding the postcard trap. The strongest images come from details your family will only witness once.
You’re getting married on the Riviera? It’s a beautiful region, with the lake, vineyards, mountains as backdrop. I won’t lie: it’s pleasant to photograph.
But what makes your photos special isn’t the panorama. It’s what happens between you, with your loved ones, in those moments that don’t repeat.
I’ve been photographing weddings in Vevey, Montreux, and Lavaux for several years. I like this region, but I don’t claim to know every corner.
What I do know how to do:
No rigid poses, no forced staging. Just your day, documented as it’s lived.
Terraced vineyards, lake below, light changing by the hour: yes, it’s beautiful. But even in this exceptional setting, what matters is you.
I’ve photographed several weddings in Lavaux. Sometimes the most beautiful photos happen in a spontaneous indoor moment, not in front of the perfect panorama. That’s how it is.
The Vaud Riviera and Lavaux may hold the highest concentration of remarkable wedding venues in French-speaking Switzerland. Belle Époque palaces, medieval castles, UNESCO-listed vineyards: the choice is vast.
Palaces and grand hotels — Fairmont Le Montreux Palace, Hôtel des Trois Couronnes in Vevey, Grand Hôtel du Lac in Vevey, and Grand Hôtel Suisse Majestic in Montreux offer Belle Époque reception halls, lakeside terraces and the experience of well-oiled teams for larger weddings. Hôtel Royal Plaza Montreux and Château d’Ouchy (in Lausanne) complete the high-end lineup.
Castles and heritage venues — Château de Chillon (civil ceremonies are permitted in certain historic rooms), Château d’Aigle, Château d’Hauteville, and Villa “Le Lac” Le Corbusier in Corseaux (UNESCO-listed) host more intimate weddings in architecturally strong settings.
Vineyards and Lavaux — The UNESCO-listed Lavaux terraces — between Lutry, Cully, Epesses, Rivaz and Saint-Saphorin — offer outstanding couple portrait settings, especially at sunset. Domains such as Domaine Croix Duplex or Le Deck Lavaux allow the full sequence — ceremony, cocktail, dinner — to take place among the vines.
CGN boats — Several couples choose a wedding on Lake Geneva: departure from Ouchy or Vevey, ceremony under sail, sunset facing the Alps. I am familiar with the technical constraints of boat reportage and adjust my gear accordingly.
My packages range from CHF 2,500 for 5 hours (ceremony and cocktail hour) to CHF 3,400 for 9 hours of continuous coverage from preparations through the first dance. The Plus package at CHF 4,200 covers 7 hours with two photographers — useful for full weekends, common on the Riviera. Details on the wedding packages page.
Yes. Château de Chillon is a venue I know well: ceremonies in certain historic rooms are allowed on request, and couple sessions in the inner courtyards, the chapel, or facing the lake from the south terrace offer unique possibilities. Flash and movement restrictions are strict, and I follow them to the letter.
Yes. The UNESCO terraces between Lutry and Saint-Saphorin are an exceptional backdrop, especially at sunset. Most paths are public, but some private domains require prior authorisation — I handle that if the session is planned on a specific estate.
Absolutely. A privately chartered CGN boat departing from Vevey, Montreux or Ouchy allows an original sequence — ceremony, aperitif, or a simple photo crossing at sunset. Timing is critical: I plan the session with the crew to catch the best light.
Yes. Montreux hosts many international weddings — British, American, Russian, Asian. The full reportage can take place in English. I also work regularly with international wedding planners based on the Riviera.
I don’t sell dreams or magazine photos. I document your day honestly. Laughter, tears, intense moments, and quiet instants.
